Our Nature:
We are a campus-based extracurricular group rather than an external organization, and we do not engage in national-level politics. Our primary mission is to foster grassroots, proactive student democracy within the school. Our official publication is "The Forward! " We operate as an open organization; we welcome proactive intellectuals from the student body to join us, and we also invite students facing difficulties to seek our assistance and support in defending their rights.
Our Position
Our Position
As we have consistently emphasized, we do not seek to confine ourselves to mere reform or limited adjustments. We advocate an upward-from-below approach directed toward substantive change.
The change we seek is not change for its own sake, nor is it a mere repetition of existing practices. The purpose of transformative change is to advance reality, enabling students to participate more directly in matters that affect them.
Ultimately, our ability to pursue such change depends upon our firm roots among the student body. We believe that lasting change cannot be separated from students themselves; it must be grounded in their participation, views, and actual needs.
We therefore uphold our:
1. Commitment to the Mass Line
To come from students and return to students, listening to their views and taking their practical concerns and needs as an important basis for our work.
2. Commitment to the Revolutionary Spirit
To reject stagnation and formalism, while maintaining the initiative to change realities, solve problems, and advance progress.
Change is necessary.
Real problems should not be approached with the preservation of the status quo as the ultimate objective.
Development is necessary.
Organizations, institutions, and mechanisms for student participation must continually develop through practice.
Innovation is necessary.
We should not be confined by established forms, but should explore new ways of enabling student participation and coordination.
Rootedness is necessary.
Our work must remain grounded in the student body and in actual circumstances, rather than becoming detached from students' everyday needs.
